My Embarrassing Story of the Year

Yesterday on Facebook, my friend Wonder Woman (that isn't really her name, hee hee) wrote that Papa Murphy's is having a sale right now on their pepperoni pizzas. They are $3.99 for a medium pizza (for customer appreciation days; today is the last day of the sale). She mentioned that she purchased five and froze them for future dinners. Well, I thought that was a brilliant idea, and decided I wanted to purchase some too. I have been really really lazy lately (as evidenced by the ridiculous meals I have been calling "dinner" and feeding to my family, and then mortifyingly posting on my dinner blog). Plus my family has been missing cheese too, and why should they be punished just because I can't eat dairy?

So I called Papa Murphy's, and was instantly put on hold. I didn't think anything of it, because I figured they would be busy. Then when I finally got through, I told them I wanted the $3.99 pepperoni pizza special they had going on. The girl said she wasn't aware of a special, but she could give me a medium pepperoni pizza for $4.99. I said, "Oh, my friend said there is a deal going on right now. Is that only up in the Salt Lake/Provo area, and not down here?" She seemed confused and passed the phone to someone else who could probably help me better. This woman told me that she could give me a pepperoni pizza for $4.99, and I finally gave in and said I would like four. She said, "I'm assuming this is for carryout?" I said, "Of course," but I was thinking, "Why would she ask me something like that? They don't deliver. Of course I will be picking it up....."

Oh......

Um.....

Then I said, "Um, I have an embarrassing question. What pizza store did I just call?" The woman said, "Dominos." Oops. "Um, will you please cancel that order? I accidentally called the wrong place." She laughed and said, "Don't worry about it, that happens all the time."

I seriously doubt it. I think she was just being nice.

I went and looked on my fridge, and sure enough, my Dominos magnet and my Papa Murphy's magnet were right next to each other. D'oh!

So I called Papa Murphy's, ordered my four pizzas, was very thankful that I had called ahead because the line was out the door when I got there, and my family had pizza for dinner and I had pancakes.

(Oh, and I pilfered the crusts off of the pizza for myself. No dairy in those!)
