Mmm Mmm Good

Well, I accomplished one of my "goals" this week of making something I have never made before from one of my cookbooks. Yay me! I got The Pioneer Woman cookbook for Christmas, and after salivating over every page, I decided to make Marlboro Man's Favorite Sandwich. It tasted great. There was a learning curve for picking it up though - the first time I picked mine up to take a bite all the meat and onions fell out of the bun. But Ethan and Aidan even asked for seconds, so I guess it was a hit for the entire family!

I'm crossing my fingers that I will continue making recipes from my piles, since this first experience was a good one. (It's so easy to get lazy and make the same old standbys!) Maybe I'll do a dessert next...any suggestions? (Or maybe I could actually look through my piles and choose one of the 1000 desserts I have already printed, ha ha.)

Oh man...I am so impressed! I love PW and her recipes always look so good. I have yet to have made anything new this year...perhaps this week will be the week.

What a great goal! My efforts to cook more end up with "dinners" consisting of pigs in a blanket. (In my defense, the kids love 'em!) That sandwich looks delicious.

I believe my next attempt at dessert sometime in the future will be the oreo cheesecake cookies from the tasty kitchen blog. Just a thought. . . I know how much you love oreo cheesecake. I haven't made them yet, however, so I have no idea if they are good or not.

Were you able to see her in person when she came to Utah for her book signing? It's amazing how she went from being a no-man's blogger to full blown blogger, to her own website, to now her own cookbook! Sounds like it was great!

Good for you for trying something new. I'll be excited to hear about the next cooking adventure.

Mmmmm! I saw that one. Looks soooo good!

If you haven't made her cinnamon rolls you MUST!! No knead!! They are delicious! (I make a cream cheese frosting instead of her maple one, as my family didn't care for it). Also, Greg proclaimed her salted caramel brownies one of the best desserts he's ever eaten. Deathly delicious. :)

You've inspired me to start doing that1 I really want to start making new things to eat, and get out of the monotony.
