For Just One Week

Last week I wrote about how I was going to refrain from sweet/sugary treats for the entire week. I'm proud to say I did it! I didn't even eat one chocolate chip from the half eaten bag (read: the package was open and calling my name) in the cupboard. But it wasn't easy...both boys jumped off of the diving board at swimming lessons and Christian told them they could have ice cream cones as a reward. I wanted to go with them to celebrate, but I respectfully declined. Christian said, "You did really well this week. Maybe your next For Just One Week could be to not eat out at any restaurant the entire week." UH UH. NO WAY. I'm not doing that one. (Hee hee.)

This week, I am going on vacation. Usually, when vacationing involves plane rides, I get somewhat anxious about making it on time, where to park, getting through security, etc. This week my goal is to know that I always allow myself plenty of time and there is no need to be anxious. This is a vacation for heaven sake! So - For Just One Week, I will - Breathe deeply. Relax. Have fun.

Is there anything you want to try for just one week? Oh, and I know what I am going to do for the two weeks after this too, if you want to start thinking about it and make your own goals...

I'm thinking I need to do the no sweets thing... and I would love to exercise everyday for one week. I LOVE to exercise but so frequently let other things get in the way, I think it would be good for me to make it a priority. Even just for a week.

Have an awesome vacation!

I want to eat like a pig for a whole week.

For real.
Have a great vacation!

Other than my slip up with the sugar cookies on Monday, I made it through. I'm going to try the no sugar one again this week, but it has to be after today. It's my daughter's birthday and I'm sure I'll end up having some cake. ☺

Have a fun, relaxing vacation!

I am always a bit of a wreck before flying to, when it comes to are we going to make it? Are the kids going to decide to throw a major fit when we are trying to go through security. But it always works out and we are there way too early with lots of time to sit around :)
Have fun on vacation!!

I haven't been to the beach in years. I miss it!

And congrats on the no sugar for a week. What's your long term goal?

I like the idea of doing something for one week. It's long enough to be a challenge, but not too long. I'm thinking I might copy you and cut out sweets for a week....I just have to get rid of the pan of brownies on my kitchen counter first!

Have a wonderful vacation (jealous). For one week I would love to get enough sleep. I bet my husband I could go to bed by 8:30 all this week. Hopefully I can sleep!

Excellent work on the no sugar. I'm proud of you.

And have lots of fun and even more relaxation while you're gone!

Good for you! No sugar. I would not be so brave.

Have fun on vacation!

Wait, where are you going on vacation?

Such a good idea. My thoughts have been that I need to have a no-treat week too.
And a no-anger week. Not that I'm super angry and yelling all the time. Just that I feel terrible whenever I go over-board on the anger thing, and I know I don't HAVE to get angry - so, I'd like to try to stay cool for a whole week. I'm sure the most infuriating of things would mostly likely occur during that very week. I wonder if I could be so mature as to pull that off.

Have a fun vacation!

yay! You did it! This is my last week, but over the weekend I cheated. A lot! But, I think I deserved some treats.

Oooo...have a fun vacation!

I'm going to aim for a week of no gossiping. VERY tricky living in a small town like ours and being a member of the family I'm part of and all. But it'll give me more chances to talk about myself so maybe it won't be so bad...

P.S. I'm going to San Diego with my mom and sister, sans kids. Sigh....

I want to not take my kids to McDonalds for one week.

For just one week I'd love to eat whatever I want, instead of micromanaging everything.
Yeah, like that'll happen.

I'm with Lee......if I could just chill out about it for ONE WEEK!

Have a good time!

I'd like to do the 'no sweets' thing but I'm pretty sure I'd fail.

Perhaps when I get back up to full speed healthwise (getting over what appears to have been Swine Flu) I will do a whole week of daily workouts.

Ah vacation. They are always filled with fun times and exciting adventures.

I really like your concept of "Just one Week" I hope it helps others know that they can give up something.

Good for you.

Yahoo! Vacation! Have a beautiful time. We just got back from ours and I'm still in chillaxin mode. Congrats on making it through your week of NOooooooo sugar!

Becca said...

Yay! For you. I cheated...but only a little. It was a bite here and a bite there instead of a meal of sugary sweet treats. My biggest accomplishment was knowing that I didn't give in to the urge to buy the best ever strawberry shake on the last week they were being sold. That in and of itself is HUGE for me! And I like that it just gave me a little more control over what I eat! Thanks for inspiring me!

Yay for relaxing vacations! Driving is really better than flying with kids I've decided. So much work.

(I'll be there a few weeks after you!)

I think my first "For Just One Week" needs to be no computer for a week while I get ready for the school year... We'll see, though.

I'm finally caught up on your blog!! Hope your vacation is/was great!

WTG!!! I have seriously high doubts that I could ever eliminate sweets for a day let alone a week.

I have in the past been a eat out junkie but I had a paradigm shift. I am thrilled about it. I have tried eating out less before but it never took. I think my new frame of mind will prevail this time.

I would love to read a book a day for a week. Bliss.

Are you in California this week and not call me? :)

Just kidding!

I hope that wherever you are, you and your family are having a wonderfully relaxing time. (And I hope there is a Jamba Juice in your midst to enjoy!)

While I think you are completely awesome, I know I could not make it a whole week without sugar. Maybe a whole day. MAYBE. Because how will I prove my love to my family without sugar?!

:)

I think that is a great plan!!! I hate when I go on vacation and feel like I need another vacation just to recover!
Enjoy your relaxing, anxiety-free time!!!

I love your influence, Erin. It's so positive and uplifting. I can imagine doing something good for me for one week. I have this problem where I usually just imagine NEVER EVER doing this or that again. But if I think about it as just one week, that really helps me get started.

You rock.

I hope your vacation is super relaxing and so much fun.
